Business day calculator guide

Calculate working days between two dates

The Business Day Calculator helps you quickly compare calendar days with actual weekdays. Enter a start date and an end date to see how many Monday-to-Friday working days, weekend days, and total calendar days fall within the range. It is useful for planning project schedules, invoice terms, payroll windows, support SLAs, shipping estimates, and any workflow where weekends should be counted separately.

Project planning: estimate how many working days are available before a deadline.
Finance and payroll: count weekdays inside billing periods, payment terms, or cutoff windows.
Operations: compare calendar days and business days for SLA or delivery commitments.
Personal scheduling: check whether a date range is mostly weekdays or weekends before making plans.

Business Day Calculator FAQ

Does the calculator include the start and end dates?

Yes. The current calculation treats the selected start date and end date as part of the range, so both dates are counted when they fall inside the selected period.

What counts as a business day?

This tool counts Monday through Friday as business days and Saturday and Sunday as weekend days. It does not automatically subtract public holidays.

Can I use it for SLA or delivery planning?

Yes. It is designed for quick planning where you need to compare working days with total calendar days. For contractual SLAs, confirm whether your policy also excludes local holidays or regional non-working days.

Does the calculation run locally?

Yes. Date counting happens in your browser, so the selected dates are not sent to an external calculation API.
